Wiresafe is an "inside telephone wire" maintenance plan available to residential, Centrex, and single-line business customers.
Benefits:
- You don't have to worry about who to call when your phone is out of order.
- An experienced FairPoint Communications technician can locate where the problem is and, if it is found in your inside wiring or jacks, will repair it at no charge.
- Protects you from charges if your repair problem is found in your house wire or jacks.
- Customers don't always know where the problem lies when a phone is out of order. We can help identify the problem and repair it.
What is not covered under the Wiresafe Plan?
- Repair of telephone sets or the cords connected to a telephone set.
- New installation, rewiring or installation of new jacks.
- Buried or aerial cable beyond the customer's protector. This includes but is not limited to: cable between outbuildings, recreational vehicles, campers, boats, and tents.
- Cable that runs between or among separate apartments or dwelling units in a multi-tenant property.
- Wire provided and maintained by the customer that does not meet the technical industry standards and installation guidelines (see Acceptable Use Policy below).
- Acts of vandalism or misuse.
Acceptable Use Policy of the Wiresafe Plan:
- WireSafe is available to residential, single-line business and Centrex customers only.
- All telephone lines at your premise must be covered by Wiresafe or the plan will be considered void and cancelled.
- If we discover that your wiring does not meet accepted industry standards, we will tell you, cancel your Wiresafe service, and refund any amounts paid.
- If you choose to bring your wiring up to the accepted standards, you have the option to have FairPoint do the work on a Time and Material basis, you may hire another vendor, or you may do the work yourself.
- If it appears that you are abusing or misusing the benefits you receive from the Wiresafe plan, we will notify you and cancel the service.
- FairPoint reserves the right to discontinue the Wiresafe plan in portion or in its entirety. You would be notified in writing prior to that time.
