| long distance alert
A distinctive ring (short, medium, short) lets you know the incoming call is long distance. If you are on an existing call, Long Distance Alert will also notify you with 3 quick beeps that an incoming call is long distance.
To Activate/Deactivate Long Distance Alert:
- Pick up the handset and dial *49.
- A confirmation tone will let you know the feature status has been changed.
To Answer a Long Distance Call When You Are Already on a Call:
- Depress the switchhook or press the flash key.
- To return to the original call, depress tht switchook or press the flash key again.
Note: Dial-up Internet users may want to deactivate this feature to prevent interference while online.
This free feature is standard on all phone lines.
